IN TIMES OF CRISIS,

WE ARE MORE TOGETHER

WHY TO GIVE A MESSAGE OF UNITY

We are facing difficult moments worldwide and, in our region, where the CoVid-19 virus pandemic has forced states and governments to carry out policies that prevent a health emergency and that various areas of our daily lives are affected by this global situation.

Our YMCAs are also part of this crisis and despite being affected by it, we want to send a message to the rest of the world where we demonstrate why after 175 year of existence, we are still in force and we can be valuable to our communities in any circumstance.

THE CREATIVE CONCEPT:

EACH ONE OF US IS A YMCA

The global pandemic requires to close sports venues, offices and social centers in many countries, making the staff teams of our YMCAs start working from their homes, turning their houses into offices and involving their families more in their daily work activity.

Now virtually, we have gone from having one, two, five or ten physical locations in our cities, to having thousands throughout the continent; Each home of each staff or volunteer begins to become one more branch from which they work several hours a day to continue improving the quality of life of thousands of people.

The idea is to show the world that despite being working from our homes, this is more than a job; It is an organization that with or without infrastructure, is made up of caring, kind-hearted people who find working for others the special ingredient for their lives. And better that this message can be shared by its protagonists.

HOW WILL WE DO IT?

It is very simple: You just have to take a photo in a horizontal position with your cell phone (if you have a camera with a better resolution, the better) in the work area of your home with a signboard that says YMCA + the neighborhood or local area where you are. Find and share it with the communications area of your local YMCA or the person who has contacted you for this initiative. What matters is being able to see the people who are part of the YMCA, at home, in their new places of work, doing their activities.

With the set of images, we will generate various materials for social networks that can reach potential donors and our audiences, seeking to convey a positive message at this time of crisis.

IMPORTANT: IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT THE PHOTO BE IN A WORK AREA IN YOUR HOME, TRANSMITTING THE IDEA THAT YOU ARE WORKING REMOTELY. LET'S AVOID IMAGES JUST POSING WITH A POSTER.

EXAMPLES

CONTACT

To participate, we are contacting the leaders of the communication areas of each YMCA.

The objective is that the material can be collected and filtered by each local YMCA and then sent to LACA for the compilation and assembly work. It is not a mandatory or formal campaign. It is an initiative that is part of the non-profit communication strategies that we carry out periodically.

By submitting a photo, each staff / volunteer agrees that their image can be used in public media to communicate YMCA activities.

If you have not been contacted and intend to participate, contact daniel.gomez@lacaymca.org  directly.

Thank you!
